Well that’s winter and spring in Japan at least… here it’s the opposite way around. But of course the only seasons that matter to me are anime seasons!!It’s easter holidays for me now, so I spent pretty much the whole weekend having another anime marathon and I’ve managed to finish all winter anime and watch episode 1 of all spring anime that I’m interested in!

I didn’t think Rideback’s ending was too good. There was hardly any character development since episode 1 in my opinion. In the first episode she found out that she really liked Ridebacks. In the end she gave up on them, then found out that she still liked them. The end. Oh well maybe she did help to destroy some bad government along the way, but overall I have to say that in the end nothing really happened. I had a very meh sort of feeling after watching it and I can’t even be bothered posting a picture of a rideback here.

lol the lame jokes were what made Akikan! worth watching

Akikan! on the other hand had a much better ending. It was pretty full of fail at the beginning of the show as well, and even though the animation never really improved that much and the storyline was fairly shallow, at least I didn’t feel like I had wasted 4 hours of my life watching it. The sexual jokes weren’t bad and while some were extremely stupid there were a few that I thought were a bit funny. I must admit that the stretchy faces and evil Akikan being called Miku did make me think better of the show, but once in a while stupid shows aren’t that bad. After all Naruto is one of the most popular animes/mangas and the main character is a brainless idiot. But still in the end, happy endings are the best after all =D

I also remember reading on someone’s blog that Hatsune Miku sang the ending of this Akikan episode, just as a joke coz the big bad boss character was called Miku. I couldn’t really hear her well but “初音ミク” definitely showed up somewhere in the credits.

Takane-oneesama is still one of the main reasons I watch Sorakake Shoujo though <3

That’s all of the winter season anime finished! Except for sorakake shoujo because that’s still airing of course. Sorakake shoujo is getting better I think. Still waiting for the last episode of Candy Boy too but I’m starting to lose interest in that yuri twincest anime as well.I watched the first episode of 18 new animes this season I think  new so I’m going to split them into separate posts. Probably in the order that I watched them.

For some odd reason the first three animes I watched this season all had some mysterious woman attacking the main character guy, except for K-on! of course because that doesn’t have a main character guy. Maybe violent girls are the new in thing this season?

Nice maid =D

Nice maid =D

First of these three shows was Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~. Plot is something about a guy that has been brainwashed and turned into an assassin. The animation seems pretty good, fighting scenes are good and characters are interesting so I’ll probably watch it. I was assuming it to be a little crazy because it’s an anime adaptation of a visual novel, by Nitro+ (remember Chaos Head?). It is a little similar to Chaos Head in that the main character has no identity, but Chaos Head seemed crazier. But then again Chaos Head was a collaboration between Nitro+ and Pb5. Maybe all the crazy stuff came from the people at Pb5?

The animation is done by Bee Train which really pissed me off with that El Cazador anime because it was so bad. They have redeemed themselves in my eyes with this show but it’s definitely not the best this season. K-on! is still the best of course!

ooo mismatched eye colours are just so cool

mismatched eye colours are just so cool!

he next thing I watched was Asura Cryin’. I’m quite pleased with this show, probably because there is a wide variety of bishoujos >=D  There’s the childhood friend, who is dead and is a ghost, the mysterious senpai and a violent miko with mismatched eyecolours that transforms into a timid girl during the daytime. All very original and cover s a wide range of criteria to appeal to otakus of all tastes! Oh and it has big mechas as well! Definitely will keep watching. Probably one of the top 5 of the season.

Third thing I watched was Pandora Hearts.I didn’t like it that much after watching episode 1, because the middle was a little creepy. Talking dolls creep me out. It seemed a bit of a horror type show as well, with the bit how he got strangled in a dream and woke up with strangle marks on his neck? Second episode was much less creepier and makes me want to watch the show more – probably because of the cute girl at the beginning of the show XD  Oh and the crazy girl that looks like Meishen from Koukaku no Regios and turns into a big B-rabbit with a scythe is not bad looking either!

I’m quite happy with this season’s anime! Last season I watched about 6 shows I think, but this season I’m picking up more than 15! I’ll probably have to drop a few to keep up with uni though T__T  Will write up my impressions of all the other anime I’ve watched later, namely 07 Ghost, Basquash, Full Metal Alchemist, Hayate no Gotoku!!, Sengoku Basara, Tayutama and a few others that I can’t remember at the moment

Cute!

Cute! Not gonna drop this show!
