The 2009 spring anime season has begun! I started this season with K-ON! and it definitely lives up the the hype it’s been getting. There wasn’t too much happening in the first episode and Yui does remind me of Nagisa/Ushio (because of the KyoAni drawing style probably) but that doesn’t matter because MIO IS PURE WIN <33 Oh and thanks Coalguys for subbing it. lol you really are too coal!!
While all good things do come to an end, apparently To Aru Majutsu no Index isn’t ending yet. The “ending” was really open ended and in fact just opened up more questions about this Aleister Crowley guy who is a body that floats upside down in a giant test tube… There’s probably going to be a second season of it. Actually I’m still waiting for the second season of Mushi-Uta as well… Oh and I read somewhere that To Aru Kagakusha no Choujidenbou (A certain scientist’s railgun), which is kind of a side manga which focuses on Misaka Mikoto will be made into an anime too! I don’t really like the level-upper arc at the moment but I’m sure it will get better.

I’ll probably be posting less from now on because uni will be starting and I won’t be sitting at home doing nothing like I have been for the last three months. I’ll still keep churning out the Illustrator Intros and Weekly Vocaloid rankings (on Sundays and Wednesdays respectively), though they could be a little late once in a while. I also missed out yesterday’s post because I was rather tired after my anime marathon – watched Clannad, Gundam, Sora Kake Shoujo, Munto, Maria+Holic, ToraDora, Kurogane no Linebarrel, Kemono no Souja Erin, To Aru Majutsu no Index and Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Still have to watch 3 Kara no Kyoukai movies too…
I don’t really feel like writing up individual posts for that many episodes and I’m too tired to write something intelligible so I’ll just imagedump. Kore douzo:
Nandeyanen?!
While Clannad After Story 18 was not the stuff of lolicon dreams, it was still a great episode. In fact, I would probably grade the stuff of lolicon dreams as poor quality and distasteful… The main reason this episode was really good was that it made me cry. Crying is great! I love sad stuff, but sometimes k-drama puts me off because everyone in the show has cancer or incestuous relationships or something like that and it’s rather over the top.
I was really glad that this episode the emo kid cheered up. If there were any more black and white emo episodes I’m not sure whether I would have been able to stand it – rather like the middle of Tengen Toppa.
As you can see from the screenshots, the episode was filled with the usual KyoAni cuteness. Not much to the episode except that Tomoya and Ushio spend more time together, Tomoya hears from his grandmother what kind of father his father was and realised that he was doing a pretty bad job of being a dad (took him 5 years to realise =_=)
Clannad After Story 17 was a bit surprising to me. I thought it would be the same as the Toei movie. The Toei movie is the same as the eroge I think, though I’m not sure coz I haven’t played it. The faces in the eroge put me off a bit, and the anime does a great job of making me cry already, so I’m not gonna bother spending time on that. I guess it’s ok if the anime is different from the Toei anime though, otherwise it would be boring watching when you already know what’s going to happen. I remember KyoAni changed a bit of stuff in first season too – something about a tennis match and Kyou and Ryou crying, so this doesnt surprise me too much.

I was surprised by the amount of loli content in the episode though.Personally I think this episode would have mind some lolicons very happy. It made me happy! – not to say that I am a lolicon though…
ZETSUBOU SHITA!!!
Watched episode 16 of Clannad After Story today (yes I know I’m a few days late), which was apparently a real tearjerker because Nagisa dies. I didn’t really find it all that sad and I didn’t actually cry – got a little teary though. I already knew what was going to happen though, because I watched the Clannad movie done by Toei, which had the nice faces >=D. Obviously Kyoani > Toei anyday though. I have to admit that even though this episode of After Story was supposed to be sad I lolled hard at this screenshot of Tomoya in zetsubou mode.

Clannad usually comes out on Monday if I remember correctly, and I’ve only managed to watch it today on Thursday! What’s the world coming to?!!
Episode 14 was very cute as usual. The maid uniforms were especially cute!
First time seeing mature-looking Nagisa. FIGURE WANT!
