Purple hair ahoge shoujo

Been mucking around with this anime girl generator that I saw on DannyChoo. Download link here. It’s not too bad (as you can see from the purple hair ahoge shoujo above) but the colours aren’t very customisable. I wanted her hair to be less pink and more purple. Everybody loves the purple hair girls! – I MEAN, LOOK AT KOTOMI AND KYOU (Clannad). Probably will photoshop this waifu that I made later, so that she’s holding a leek or something. Too sleepy right now.

I want to watch Maria+Holic but I’m so sleepy… Maria+Holic usually wins over sleep but watching while half-asleep is a waste.

I downloaded Back-On’s new single – Flyaway. It’s pretty good too! According to we to U this is the theme song of “Tales of The World: Radiant Mythology 2″ PSP game. I’ve never played any games in the Tales of series or watched the anime. Wonder if I should make the effort to try?

Miko needs magical wand. Also don't know why she lost her ahoge. Personally I like my miko without ahoge though!

I wish I had time to play with this program a bit more but I seem to be out everyday lately – sucking up all my time T__T

Haven’t even managed to check out Kemono no Souja Erin yet even though it’s been out for a while and already have at least 10 eps of anime piling up in my download folder where I haven’t even touched them…

Ookamimimi =D

I’ve managed to finsh another anime that’s been sitting on my computer for over a year! Spice and Wolf (I prefer to call it Ookami to Koushinryou, which translates to Wolf and Spice but meh) was actually pretty good. The storyline and animation were only above average at best, but what made this anime good was the ookamimimi (lol so many mi’s) and tsundere goodness. And of course everybody knows that mimi + tsundere = WIN. Of course we know that the happiness you get from a tsundere is shown by the graph below. I forgot whose blog I found this graph on but thanks anyway. Add on the mimi and “happiness of you” function can increase by up to ten times the original!

Apart from the tsun-tsun-mimi-dere girl there were several other things that appealed to me about this show. The first is that the main character’s seiyuu was Fukuyama Jun! Although he didn’t have use his Lelouch voice, that probably would have been inappropriate for the show, though it would definitely have made the show more epic. The storyline didn’t really stand out to me at all. It seemed to be just following the everyday life of a merchant (basically buying something somewhere then going somewhere else and selling it at a higher price) who coincidentally meets a tsundere-mimikko who can transform into a wolf, who helps him with his business. Though the plot wasn’t anything exciting, character development was good (when the tsun-tsun girl becomes dere-dere) which is what really matters I guess.

One thing I didn’t like abou the show was something quite minor – the insertion of an anime only character. I don’t really like anime that isn’t faithful to the manga (or light novel in this case) because they always seem to screw something up. Chloe’s story was acceptable but I didn’t like the way she was drawn. She looked like she just came out of Princess Resurrection (Kaibutsu Oujo) – which I found quite boring – because they were done by same animator. The other characters didn’t really remind me of that show so it didn’t bother me too much.

Too much tsundere made me consider reading the light novel at baka-tsuki (english translation) because I’m too lazy to read large chunks of japanese text, which is why I still haven’t made much progress on my eroge backlog of at least 80+ visual novels T_T. However, wikipedia says there is second season of the anime which I’ll probably watch for more tsundere-mimikko goodness. Although I like tsundere I must say I dislike Kugimiya Rie/Shana/Louise (though I do kind of like her Nena voice) and I probably couldn’t take another season of Shana or Zero no Tsukaima. Apparently in the second season they are changing animation studios from from Imagin (they did some anime in Eureka Seven, Moonlight Lady and Mushishi all of which I quite liked) to Brain’s Base (they did Night Wizard which bored me so much). Brain’s Base is also currently doing a joint production of Akikan which has much animation fail but I guess I’ll have to watch the show first before judging it.

Finally got around to watching anime again after working on the site for a day and a half, then taking a nice long nap. I just took a quick look at Rideback and I’m not really sure what it’s supposed to be about. The story is supposedly set in the near future where the world has been taken over by some terrorist group and is orderly because everyone is scared of the guys with the guns. Some random girl (I didn’t even bother paying attention to her name, I think it was Ogata something) who was really good at ballet injured herself and quit because she didn’t feel like doing ballet anymore. She started going to college and stumbled across a strange bike with arms that also can transform into a humanoid kind of shape. She rode it because of some kind of wierd accident and she liked it. Episode one end.

I really don’t know what the show is supposed to be about! The main character woman keeps saying something like “the world is changing”. This and the summary on wikipedia which says more stuff about terrorists and oppression make me think that she’s suddenly going to take her new mecha and start to perform armed interventions around the world. The feel of the show kind of reminds me of Over Drive though, how the main character just finds something they really like, so I’m also under the impression that she might join some kind of bike-with-arms racing contest.

Apart from the storyline, the animation looks ok. The shape of the face looks a bit strange to me (just like how all Nishimata Aoi girls look fat/wide to me). I think it’s something about the chin. If I keep watching I’ll get used to it though and it won’t bother me anymore. Tengen Toppa gave me that kind of feeling when I first watched it too because the drawings were kind of spiky, but I love it now. Except episode 4. One thing that puts me off is the 3D CG of the bike. I do not like 3D CG in my anime. I’ll probably watch the next episode and give the show another chance but I am quite inclined to drop it. The bike with arms doesn’t really appeal to me and I’ll be busy in a month or two when uni starts. I made it into pharmacy! Yay!

After seeing the vibrant anime blogging community around Danny Choo and Dasaku I thought it would be fun to start up my own blog and join the otakusphereI’ve been meaning to do this for a few months but the urge to procrastinate got the better of me and I’ve just been bumming around my house doing nothing for a while. I’m glad I finally managed to get off my lazy ass and start up this blog because I was getting rather bored of being bored.This blog is going to contain my thoughts about my own anime, gaming and occasional eroge experiences. Hopefully there will be some figure reviews further down the track if I ever save enough money to get some T_T.
